What is Thai Yoga massage?
Historically, Thai Yoga massage has it's roots in northern India and had migrated to Thailand with the transference of Buddhism. It's origin can be traced back 2,500 years ago. The founding father of Thai massage, Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, was an Ayurvedic doctor and a great Yogi. He was known to serve and treat Buddha and the monastic community. After the death of Buddha, the Buddhist monks travelled to Southeast Asia accompanied by Ayurvedic doctor's. These doctor's practiced a healing art that would later evolve into traditional Thai massage. Over the centuries this sacred healing art would be practiced in temples and hospitals. It flourished as a way for spiritual people to share benefits of meditation and compassion in a physical form. It is a respected healing art form that has now spread to the western world and is now available right here in North America! This massage style has been adapted to suit the ways of the western people and culture.
